LUUF Presentation on Sunday, September 16, 2018 SACRED ACTIVISM Speaker: Rev. Allen Wells

Sacred Activism' is a revolution in consciousness where we begin our justice and peace work from a grounded place of inward calm, intent to heal, and desire to serve, and disallow ourselves to be reactively driven by external needs and outside threats.  Thus we enliven ourselves and do not burn out.  It is truly a source that we may tap into to create change when change is hard.

About Rev. Allen Wells
He has been part of the UU world since the 1960s, is now the community minister at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, and once served congregations in Weymouth, Mass., Hollis Queens, Brooklyn, and Rockland County, NY.  Then, for two decades he directed The Allen Wells Center for Psychotherapy and Healing in Morristown NJ, and he now teaches meditation and has a private practice in mindfulness based counseling.  He holds a postgraduate degree in pastoral counseling from the Institute of Religion and Health in NYC, and a Certificate of Completion of the Integrated Study Practice Program at the Barre [MA] Center for Buddhist Studies.  To us, here at LUUF, where serves as a visiting consulting minister, we like to consider him part of our family, a dear and caring friend, whom we welcome frequently.
